CAPAOC (Compassion and Peace Association of Canada) is a federal not for profit organization focused on raising awareness about the importance of mental health and suicide awareness in Canadian society.  As an advocacy organization, one of our primary objectives is to see the Canadian government adopt a national suicide prevention strategy.  Canada is the only member of the G8 group of countries not to have one.

Formed in 2008 by musician Blake Bliss, CAPAOC is based in the Greater Toronto Area and works with organizations in Hamilton, Halton, Peel, York and Toronto including the Halton Suicide Prevention Coalition and the Halton branch of the CMHA (Canadian Mental Health Association).  We are an agency member of the Suicide Prevention Council of Hamilton.

Our activities are funded by your generous donations.  All of our staff, including our board of directors, are volunteers and receive no personal compensation.  Strict financial controls are imposed and financial statements are available on request.
